Laurel Hell is a term from the Southern Appalachians in the US, where laurel bushes basically grow in these dense thickets, and they grow really wide," Mitski told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. "And I mean, I've never experienced it myself, but when you get stuck in these thickets, you can't get out. Or so the story goes. And so there are a lot of Laurel Hells in America, in the south, where they're named after the people who died within them because they were stuck. And so the thing is, laurel flowers are so pretty. They just burst into these explosions of just beauty. And I just, I liked the notion of being stuck inside this explosion of flowers and perhaps even dying within one of them." [x]

If it’s indeed Pierrot, seems a very Gucci (Italian) collab as in Alessandro probably had some interesting input for a subtle but meaningful message. Outspoken to kind of silent in two days.

Mmm. That’s a really good point. Pierrot is mute, isn’t he? And yes, I’m sure Alessandro/his Gucci team made the costume

Hey Allie, I was wondering why everyone got so freaked out about toxic following Medicine? I mean it’s a GREAT song, but is there any symbolism I’m missing?
skepticalarrie answered:
Hey love. Medicine is the biggest gay song ever written, and that alone dressed as Pierrot - that represents a naive and fool clown, where people keep fucking him over and not taking him seriously - is already a big statement. And then he followed that with Toxic??? A song about someone being toxic, destructive, and you can’t get away from it (and he added this song before on the pre show playlist when important people in the industry was there) Not to mention the #FreeBritney movement (which Harry already acknowledged before) that is basically about how damaging, controlling and oppressive the industry is. He went for a big statement tonight.
